The 10th anniversary of Empowering Development Project (EDP) was celebrated in a grand and festive manner. The event took place on April 26 in a New York community.
Invited guests, well-wishers, and captivating cultural performances added vibrancy to the celebration. The event was hosted by Sharmin Sonia, with overall support from Ashiqur Rahman Ashiq, Director of EDP, and Abdullah Zubayer, Program Manager of EDP.
New York State Senator John Liu attended as the chief guest and wished the organization continued success. On behalf of the New York City Mayor’s Office, a special proclamation was presented to EDP. Additionally, New York State Assembly Member Jennifer Rajkumar presented another proclamation marking EDP’s 10th anniversary.
Certificates were awarded to graduates of EDP’s Computer Training Program by City Council Member Shahana Hanif, along with EDP’s Founder and Executive Director Ambia Begum and President M.S. Alam.
In recognition of EDP’s significant contributions to the community, both the New York City Council and State Assembly honored the organization with commemorative crests and awards.
Distinguished members of the Bangladeshi community in New York were also present at the event. Special guests included legendary Bangladeshi film actor Ahmed Sharif and his wife.
Renowned Bangladeshi singer Chandra Roy mesmerized the audience with performances of traditional Bangladeshi songs, touching the hearts of everyone in attendance.
