Empowering Development Project Inc. (EDP) Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary in a Grand and Vibrant Ceremony in New York
Empowering Development Project Inc. (EDP) celebrated its 10th anniversary through a grand and lively event, filled with joy and enthusiasm. The presence of community members, invited guests, well-wishers, and a mesmerizing cultural performance made the celebration truly vibrant. The event was beautifully hosted by the popular presenter Sharmin Sonia, who kept the audience engaged throughout. The event was supported by EDP Director Ashiqur Rahman Ashiq, with overall coordination by Program Manager Abdullah Zubayer.
The event was held at Joya Hall in Rego Park, New York. The chief guest was New York State Senator John Liu, who highly praised EDP's success and the remarkable contribution of its Founder and Executive Director Ambia Begum toward community development. On this special occasion, EDP received a proclamation from the New York City Mayor’s Office. Additionally, New York State Assembly Member Jennifer Rajkumar presented another proclamation in honor of EDP’s 10th anniversary. Representatives from the Mayor’s Office and various State and City Assembly officials also attended to show their respect for EDP.
Certificates were handed out to students of EDP’s Computer Training Program by New York City Council Member Shahana Hanif, alongside EDP’s Founder & Executive Director Ambia Begum and President M.S. Alam. This recognition is expected to serve as a strong inspiration for EDP students.
In acknowledgment of EDP’s special contributions to the community, the New York City Council and State Assembly awarded the organization with honorary crests and awards. It marked a unique recognition of EDP’s long-standing dedication and unwavering service to the community.
Prominent figures from the Bangladeshi community in New York also attended, adding grace to the event. Assembly representative Sagir Khan assured EDP of future funding support.
Special guests included legendary Bangladeshi film actor Ahmed Sharif and his wife. Their presence brought added prestige and brightness to the celebration. Renowned Bangladeshi singer Chandra Roy captivated the audience with performances of traditional Bangladeshi songs that touched the hearts of all attendees.
The entire event reflected EDP’s decade-long dedication, sacrifices, and relentless efforts for the betterment of the community. Toward the end of the program, EDP announced its future plans and expansion goals, aiming to make an even greater impact on community welfare on a larger scale.
